Orchestra: Jesse Gomez

We pleased to introduce our new orchestra director Mr. Jesse Gomez Mr. Gomez who has a strong background in youth music education and development as a conductor for the
Racine Kiwanis Youth Symphony and as a private instructor. Along with his passion for music
enrichment, Mr. Gomez is an established violinist who performs with various orchestras and groups
throughout Southeast Wisconsin and Northern Illinois.

Band (during school year): Jeremy ScottSaxophonist and Educator at Saint Joseph Upper campus, Jeremy Scott has become one of the most influential and respected musicians in Wisconsin. After encouragement from his father, Jeremy picked up the saxophone at the age of eight and has never looked back. Jeremy has received his bachelor’s degree in music from UWM, and has made a name for himself, having traveled across the United States as well as Europe performing on the saxophone. Since picking up the saxophone in 1990 he has been studying with well
known Milwaukee saxophonist and educator Curt Hanrahan. He has also
studied with local Milwaukee jazz legend saxophonist Berkley Fudge.

Jeremy’s extensive musical achievements are very impressive. He has performed at “Taste of Chicago”, Milwaukee’s “Summer Fest”, “Jazz in the Park”, “Summer Sizzle” and the 1998 W.A.M.I. awards show, numerous Milwaukee Brewers,
Bucks and Admirals games (playing the national anthem). He has also
opened up for renowned artists, Smokey Robinson and Tuck & Patty.

Jeremy’s musical career does not only involve performing but
recording as well. In 1995 at the age of 15 Jeremy recorded his first
demo entitled, “15 & Movin’ On”. Two years later he wrote his first
big band chart called Intensity (which was the titled track of the
University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee Youth Jazz Band ensemble CD that
year). In 2004 Jeremy produced his first CD called Movin’ On (Named
after his 1995 demo 15 & Movin’ On). Jeremy not only produced and
played sax on his CD, he also wrote 90% of the music and played the
keyboard on 8 of the ten tracks. Also, in 2004, Jeremy recorded a CD
with the smooth jazz group called Emerge, where he wrote the title
track called Inspiration. That same year Jeremy played on the movie
sound track “Yes Men”. “Yes Men”, produced in Milwaukee, Wisconsin,
can be seen in movie theaters nationwide. In 2011 Jeremy produced and
released two cd’s entitled Alive and In hymn(s) we move.

Emerald Knights Marching Band (summer): J.R. Buzzell
J.R. Buzzell is currently studying trumpet performance at the DePaul University School of Music in Chicago. He has studied with several notable trumpet players, which include William Denton and Matthew Comerford of the Chicago Lyric Opera, and Tage Larsen of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. He has also studied with Dr. Gregory Hutter, Dr. Frederick Gifford, and Joseph Clark, among other professional jazz artists and composers. J.R. has been a part of the Kenosha Jazz All-Stars band for seven seasons and has been the trumpet clinician there for four seasons. Previously, J.R. was a member of every Kenosha summer band program, from K-L Band through Band of the Black Watch, graduating from Indian Trail High School in 2015. He has also studied conducting, score study, and music education under notable educators and conductors such as Dr. Erica Neidlinger and Dr. Clifford Colnot. 2019 was the second season that Mr. Buzzell was the head director of the Kenosha CYO Marching Band.
